TryllHDTv: Let's be real here, these are NOT "Runewords" these are 1 rune with 1 rune how to trigger the 1 rune which changes a thing. (Sounds like Could Compare to legendary gems) Nothing like true d2 runewords which added several stats buffs and unique affixes. - Enemy res, crushing blow, battle orders, move speed etc etc.
Not trying to be a negative Nancy here, I'm simply saying this sounds and looks very generic at the moment.
____GoMeZ____: My only minor complaint is that, now that they’ve done a stat squish, they need to also do a gold and material squish.
100,000 gem fragments, picking up billions of gold, massive, horrible inflation across the board, reroll requirements up in the millions etc
They need to clean that up now too
justinsinke2088: Honestly, the adjustment to gems doesn't surprise me in the slightest. It was likely extremely rare it seemed for folks to socket anything other than rubies into armor because the increase in life always felt like a greater power increase than stats or barrier generation. Max life was pretty much always the correct answer, and the "stat squish" may make that less necessary. Main stat vs All stat at least seems like there's more variety of choice than always Max Life. And with the Spiritborn if you go Gorilla main, Barrier generation might be worthwhile as your survivability strategy. It doesn't feel like "removing player choice" when even after the gem rework they've already done, Max Life remained the only "correct answer" to put in armor.

viktorzolsar8873: PIT is GR, glyph are legendary gems, we got D3 back sooo now it's time for crusader? The power creep is kinda wild considering this is only the first expansion, hoping for some more horizontal growth in the future and not just more up buy dlc more up buy dlc.
donaldwoody7910: Im really worried about this update. I was starting to really like Diablo 4 and now they're changing everything. for better or worse remains to be seen. Ill check out the PTR but I really dont know about this

Season 1 stat squish and huge nerf
Season 2 add some damage & buffs
Season 3 add some damage & buffs and twist up some skills so nobody knows wtf there doing.
Season 4 add some items damage & buffs and twist up some skills again
Season 5 nerf skills and add some items let everyone get mythics easier.
Season 6 rework everything so nobody knows wtf they are doing again, huge stat squish add some items & handicapped version of runewords.
Season 7 add some damage and buffs
Season 8 add some damage and buffs and rework some skills so nobody knows wtf they're doing again. Add some items
Season 9 add some damage and buffs and make the previous added items easier to acquire.
Season 10 huge nerf
Season 11 Rinse and Repeat season 1-11
