I Tried Diablo 4s NEW Rework, I Didnt Expect This Part

Sep 08 2024

gheygladiator: Waiting for everyone to cry about the game being too hard, they were crying about the game being too easy for season 5
paulm7896: Dont worry. After all the work to max your armor and res, you'll still get one shot.
chadantonie9825: Paragon/glyphs leveled to 100 will also significantly increase resistance and armor based on the boards you choose too. Don’t have to solely rely on gear.
jayprofound_mercenary6665: The UI team really need to fix the character screen. If resistances become important they should give us a full-screen so we can glance at our defences
ShatroGames: They literally said that you're not supposed to reach T4 in just a couple hours and I think that's great.
ener11454: It is worth noting that Raxx sort of exploited a bug to get to 60 that fast and Blizzard already told him it would be fixed by patch release. People should not expect leveling to be near that fast.
schoaf: Sounds like Tyraels Might Chest piece is now mandatory AF
Fishmeaker: They sgould delete that attack power stat cause its useless and let someplayers do wrong descissions.
I would rathe see life, armor and all res stats there.
Ty_Guy3: Have we all stopped asking for a zoom out ? I want to see more and map overlay for when in dungeons.
TheSwamper: From the way you describe it, I think I'll just stay in Torment 2.
emoussea1: Still don’t have mercenary, runewords, or all paragon & glyphs. It’s not going to be as hard as you think.
Creamworks: can't wait to get a super rare ancestral upgrade after hours of farming and then brick it with tempering
SeRiOuS1675: I find the new level system weird, sure its fast but there was nothing wrong with 1-100
StevenNguyenJason: The higher torment tiers are supposed to be difficult. It forces players to think about defenses instead of trying to one shot everything before they die. Also, you are not forced to go to higher torment tiers. You can get everything in torment 1 which is similar to current endgame. It's just that being able to go into higher world tiers reward you with better loot drops but you have to have a really good build to do so. Casuals will probably settle in torment 1 or torment 2 and the veterans can enjoy the higher torment tiers.
LastRightsTV: The monsters get significantly more aggressive in world tier 4. They really feel like they want to kill you. This must be the intensity AI level they talked about in the stream.
SithLordBishop: not going to feel good when glyphs are high level and 1% change to upgrade
BremSterGames: The defense and resistance chase is what killed Last Epoch for me, and when I saw this in D4 I was very worried it would be the same thing. In LE I was starting to push up through corruption and I got a really nice piece of gear, almost godlike for my build. But if I put it on, I lost too many defenses from the item I already had, so I had to swap out another piece of gear to get that defense up, which caused something else to drop, and I had to try to get defenses up again... and it turned out to put on a single upgrade you needed to have a complete set of alternate gear either already stored and ready, or be prepared to farm it or try to craft it... and it meant that the good feeling for getting a great piece of gear was completely ruined. When I realized that getting an almost best in slot piece of gear meant I couldn't equip it without going down in power a lot because I couldn't survive, I just stopped playing.

If the same happens in D4, that will stop a lot of people from chasing gear. What is the point in getting a great piece of gear if you can't equip it without going back a difficulty level because you lose too much defense? I kind of understand they are trying to make it that you will get the defenses you need as you level up in paragon and focus on improving there in order to survive and that will make the gear chase better, but it won't be enough.

You get a great item, and then you need to store it and try to find the other items to be able to equip it, so you need to keep multiple sets of gear in order to have options based on what drops on different items. In LE it was bad enough when you had almost endless storage. In D4 with it's terrible storage limits, this is going to be even worse.

I can not see this being a success in any way for anyone except the few who love chasing the hard core challenge or the one who lifestyle games like this. For the players who come for a burst of power fantasy fun, this is going to be a removal of a lot of the "reward" aspects of the game.

I have never been in the "D4 bad" camp, I have skipped a season because I wanted to take a break, but I have enjoyed most of my time in the game and it has had issues, but this is the first "D4 is going bad" change I have seen.
leegingold5634: Yeah I dunno. I like the notion but it feels too strongly applied if Turiels might and a bunch of other affixes doesn't fix tier3, that sounds like too much emphasis on building defenses.
Narxes081206: Glad I didn't pre-order!
user-hx4it5nu5k: I like this idea, it felt to easy before like defense stats didn't really matter, makes you think about the items you use and continues the hunt for better equipment. You actually have to farm in the level can defeat until something better drops. Makes items mean more to your build.
BenK12345: they were finally onto something good with season 4 and 5.. now they gotta change it all? I don't get it
SuperJByrd: Please don’t reference what Rax does, he is not an average player. He was just saying that torment 4 was too easy. His opinions don’t matter when you play the game as a job and as much as he does. If it was up to him, only the less than 1% gigachads should enjoy the game.
