I Played Diablo 4 2.0 Is it Any Good?

Sep 10 2024

byrd1620: Read title as Diablo 420
PimpMasterT: WHY would they get rid of the campfire for char select?!?!?!
RiskOfPain: SOLUTION: The initial SELECTION screen should show the campfire with all your created characters :D
bigknight09: My main feedback is put the campfire scene back in. Absolutely a pointless change :(
ChrisxArgh: wow new diablo 3 looks awesome
dredgendorchadas6770: I had really hoped they would expand on the capstone dungeons rather than tossing them.
AnthGags333: the campfire scene is iconic... a must keep.
MGC-XIII: The got rid of the camp fire because you couldn't be bothered adding the spirit borne???
Phaxey: As someone who liked D2 a lot more than D3, but still plays D4, I feel like removing the campfire character select is just adding salt to the wound. Us D2 fans already know you gave up on us, no reason to straight up remove some of the few cool references we have left.
1ButtonDash: Penitent difficulty is the new world tier 3 that you barely stood in. It opens up at 50 and you leave it at 60. Zero challenge, you just steam roll it. These new difficulties are not what they said.
Reventius: They loaned out the campfire screen technology to World of Warcraft.
judetade2101: I love both Diablo 2 and 3 but I don’t want 4 to be a copy and paste
Numen1337: Difficulty starts to feel to be something forbidden in d4 universe
VanTemplar: People: Loved the campfire
Blizzard: We got a great idea. Let's remove the campfire!!
futurewillow3269: Didnt D3 have a character stat sheet? I believe it showed hours played how many elites killed ect.
I would like to see that in D4 as well.
Also wheres the black dye
HuskerDerp: How did they manage to make the gem system even more bland LOL
braddybear: "An army of devout followers"
colby8104: Did anyone think Rhykker was going to say it was bad. He basically lives in their pocket.
arcazon7385: The stronghold exploit is known by Blizzard, and they plan on fixing before launch.
quernesvoice7507: Having bazillions of difficulty levels is the only thing I didn´t miss from D3.
LordJaroh: They haven't fixed the leveling experience. Simply made it more "hurry, get to the end to do more of the same".

They need to fix dungeons. Add some variety to the game. I don't care about getting tons of experience. I want the areas I am fighting in to be interesting to play, and fun to experience, and most importantly: replayable.

D4 is missing the most important aspect of the game still: the fact it is just not fun to replay, and that is terrible for a game that is supposed to be about replaying it all the time.
coltranenaima6869: I hate the new difficulty system, D3 is not what they should have taken inspiration from. Keep it simple, less is more.
denize7166: I honestly can't stand all those legendaris dropping all the time. It literally takes away all the fun and challenge. Incredible how they just don't get it, D4 main problem is the itemization!!
JP-ks3kh: They should call this Diablo 3.5 instead of Diablo 4 2.0
LVHAXOR316: I just don't understand having 8 difficulties when most players won't even play the first 3-4
vladimirmilman6679: I played diablo 3 only cuz it was a diablo game ... but i was hoping diablo 4 will be different well such a dissapointment i guess nothing more left to expect from the diablo franchise
JoeJaeger: They need to stop changing the gear in a way that makes the gear we worked hundreds of hours for legacy. People put a ton of time into acquiring their gear only to have it made legacy by the next season is aggravating.

You hear that Blizzard?
rotten350: When ever this game shows promise, the devs kick it in the nuts…
thapsico26: I hope they bring back the campfire at character creation. It really is iconic part of history. I mean, the new scenes are nice, but it could be integrated with the campfire
marklastname380: adding in levels of difficulty and making monsters "always your level" is just devs being lazy. Because it takes real effort and rational thought to plan out levels of zones as you progress through a story.
No-Analysis: The difficulty row is not in the middle = more torment difficulties will be added with each patch. Anyone wanna bet we surpass Diablo 3's torment 16
goransekulic3671: Rhykker, please, for the love of everything, I know you love Diablo, but you are not helping it. Criticize more, for the love of...!
kongkim: There really need to be a larger gab bewteen the difficulties.
redclaw01: Poe2 will be better. Ill be happy to jump ship on November 15th
Mandragorn: getting rid of the campfire absolute trash tier change. Cancel all the preorders.
tex4523: being able to select a default town portal location on the map is a great qol change. Now i can exit any dungeon or area on the map and be transported back to my city of choice
karrinsight_: I like how nobody talks about the fact that blizzard is making our gear again legacy this hurts that eternal community. We do not want to sit there and grind this grimy grinding game not everybody sits at their mothers house inside and 24 hours to commit to every day.
Neonmirrorblack: Kind of ridiculous that it took them a year to do what many of us were saying at launch: instead of just scrapping everything that worked in D3 just so they could create whatever random "vision" they claimed to have had, they should have taken what worked from D3 and improved upon it.

Here we are a year later, and the game is almost in a launch state.
astryl: Why is the current meta of ARPGs to make max level trivial versus having max level be an accomplishment with the scale of power not be so game changing? ie; a level 90 character isn't as strong as a 99 but not by that many orders of magnitude. I guess it's just the curse of scaling equipment power levels.
