OldManInternet: I'm a terribly casual PoE player. I join in maybe one league a year, never get max level, never kill uber bosses, and stubbornly refuse to follow a build guide because I think failing on my own is more fun. I SHOULD be the target audience for something like D4, especially considering D2 is one of my all-time most played games. But nothing at any point, from the beta to the expansion reveal, has given me even the slightest impulse to try D4. I already feel burned from D3, and they've done nothing to restore my confidence.
Personally I'm hoping PoE 2 is more my speed. If they never announced it, I probably would have given Last Epoch a shot by now. Blizzard is so far removed from what once made it great that at this point all I can do is laugh and shake my head.

chidori0117: You know POE also did this kind of "devs just chatting" but they did it in a separate interview after the showcase and they talked mostly about stuff the community is actually interested in with Ziggy also talking about stuff that was bad in the last league. When you hear them talking about their game, especially Mark, you instantly know he plays a lot and knows what is going on while still having a developer perspective on it.

TeleologicalConsistency: They spent the entire time talking about what they did in order to inflate what they did. If they had gameplay and mechanics the presentation would've probably been 5 minutes instead of over a hour. For POE the opposite was true. They speed-ran through the changes and still couldn't get to them all.

slyace1301: Dude look at the reaction of the chat and streamers on both games reveals. People are yelling, jumping and saying i cant fking wait... Diablo 4 reveals are always a pr meeting.
Danedog614: I found PoE in 2018 after their Diablo immortal phone game catastrophe at Blizzcon that year. That screw up by Blizzard has netted me thousands of hours of fun with PoE. I’ve never played Diablo Immortal, nor D4, and I have no plans to do so. That passion that you spoke of, for Blizzard that died years and years ago, they are for shareholders and not much else. GGG loves the game they make and they care about the people that play their game, and it shows.
