thisishowthetruthdies684: Someone on Reddit did a mathematic comparison and it went something like the damage that SB does in 3 seconds would take a Rogue 9 days to do.
GunGrave112985: People hitting for trillions, meanwhile, I'm still chasing that one treasure goblin.
thanospoimen8457: The number after quadrillion is blizzardrillion.
gergnotsloh: Coincidentally, you have to pay money for the Spiritborn. Weird, huh?
TheLeafyo: To get some perspective,
100 million seconds ago was in 2021
234 401 trillion seconds ago was 2.8 Billion years before the formation of our solar system.
Heff4222: The difference between your 100M and 234Q is about 234Q
Torzelan: Beat Diablo (1) again a few months ago, my warrior slew the lord of terror with Griswold's Edge and my character sheet said "Damage: 30-38".
bvang0520: I dont think it's a bug. Its Blizzard making the spiritborn class op to sell the new dlc. Once enough sales numbers are met, they'll nerf the class so bad that everyone goes back to playing their previous builds
via_negativa6183: I see the stat squish was a resounding success.....
novemsol: No, this isn't racing a civic vs a lambo. This is racing a dead cat vs an F1 car.
Arealdruid: It is such a weird spot, because I have already gotten bored of Spiritborn because it is so fast, strong, and requires so little to make work, but also gotten bored of every other class because after playing Spiritborn they all feel so slow, weak, and require so much to even do anything.
antonego9581: This all just seems so boring. Boring gear for hilariously high damage numbers. No mechanics at all just utterly mindless in every way.
GodOfWar187: Remember when Blizzard said they didn't want to hit D3 numbers, and a year later that's exactly where we're at? There's literally nothing "cool" about critting for trillions of damage. At that point, it's just noise on your computer screen.
Fitsuuu: Tbf. They said “we don’t want d3 numbers” they never specified that they wanted lower numbers.
BenK12345: one does not simply walk into tor-- .. oh, you're a spiritborn? please proceed.
steveabner2275: Just remember, the Barb NEVER did this kind of damage and so many were crying about how OP the Barb was and had to be nerfed, now the Barb SUX! How many calling for the Spiritborn to be nerfed?
zc4905: We went from “loot reborn” in season 4, to THIS..? How do they fuck up this badly?
gjr80: The biggest problem is that every single season they nerf the previous build to force you to play the build they want...
schmidth: we were doing those and higher numbers in D3, I'm starting to think the devs are just incompetent at math
devonblarg7347: My biggest issue is just how demoralizing it all is. I spent and entire week getting my sorc going, still struggling to even get the drops to get a t4 build going. My friend who rolled a spiritborn last night is already killing everything on my screen before i can do anything. So obviously i rolled a spirit born and within the first 3 hours it already does 4x my sorcs damage. Like its just demoralizing that in order to even be able to do anything in multiplayer you HAVE to be a spiritborn. Sad days man.
sconway9709: Damage numbers are as wonky as the gold economy.
UnreliableUsername: Wait.... So Blizzard released broken content? No shot
anarqee: so spiritborn is pay to win. does that surprise anyone? either that or the sadder truth that it took years to develop this character and it's still bugged AF.
MrKlutch02: In case it hasnt already been said, the number you are looking for is quintillion
zardify_: It's a bait for people to 1. buy the expansion, 2. feel like they're satisfied with the expansion...
CromulentKajiggers: Blizzard making people learn numbers after trillion and quadrillion while Valve still trying to figure out what comes after 2.
C-Vite: I get that they want Spiritborn to be powerful so it can convince more people to buy the expansion, but the class being extremely OP and eliminating other classes on all areas kills the game for me
Mark-qw4um: As another comparison point, if we think about damage as speed:
Average speed of a comet: Comets typically travel at speeds ranging from 40 km/s to 70 km/s (144,000 km/h to 252,000 km/h) as they orbit the Sun. That's about 25,000 to 43,500 miles per hour.
Average speed of a snail: A garden snail moves at about 0.013 meters per second (or 0.047 km/h, roughly 0.03 miles per hour).
So if we take a comet traveling at an average speed of 50 km/s (180,000 km/h), and compare it to a snail's 0.047 km/h, the comet is moving about 3.8 million times faster than the snail.
Insanely, the difference between the damage of your rogue, and the quadrillion damage spiritborn (assuming DPS of 4 Quadrillion vs 100 Million) is over 10 times more than the speed difference between a comet and a snail (as 4Q / 100M = 40 Million.)
If the Spiritborn were doing 4 Quadrillion DPS, it would do that damage in 1 second, and 240 Quadrillion damage in 1 minute.
It would take the Rogue dealing 100 million DPS 463 days to do the same 4 quadrillion damage, and a little over 76 years to deal the same 240 quadrillion damage as the SB can do in 1 minute.
Absolutely bonkers!
PountyBBG: D4 team: „We will never have pay for power“. First DLC releases with new class. Blizz two weeks into the DLC: „Yeah about that.“
levantos: There is no more Blizzard entertainment, it died when Vivendi sold Blizzard to Activision.
CCSplinters: A bit of a pay for power, right?
OP class, locked runewords, and locked mercenaries behind a paywall.
kevinblackwellwelder: Yes quadrillion, quintillion, sextillion are words.
TheBaneofRed: The game just has no soul. Which makes me sad because DM and others are great at providing info for it.
Flurry17: Choosing to play Sorcerer this seasons may have been one of the worst decisions of my life
nizmei8052: I understand why Mephisto didn’t show up at the boss. He saw the future and said “F that shit”
SonnyKlinger: Just to sink it in: one trillion is literally one million squared: if you deal ONE MILLION damage, you literally have to multiply your damage times ONE MILLION to get to the trillion.
richardkim3652: Bro this is worse then POE and POE is free and has less workers lol
Kaiser499TV: I keep telling people Diablo 4 is just Diablo 3.5, no one listens and this kinda stuff just proves my point. I want a true sequel to Diablo II and Diablo III.
ShinigamiAnger: The best time for this game was the beta. By far. Probably the only good time I’ve had in it.
OmniJohnSaul: Remember when Blizzard didn't allow us to test the Spiritborn during the PTR?
shmupperfromhell: It's not a bug, it's not an accident, it's working as intended. Sales need to be made and they ain't your friend.
saynotololi: Either buff the other characters or nerf the enemies they should not have that much health to begin with.
dylanlapenna8513: The crazy part is that Pit 140 ... hitting those quadrillions of damage basically tickles the bosses. I can only imagine how ANY OTHER CLASS is supposed to clear that content.
Peowcatpeow: That isn't an Aventador Vs Honda Civic. That is a ten minute mile vs the speed of light, literally. (3 m/s vs 300,000,000 m/s)
dflameX: If you followed Heroes of the Storm, modern Blizzard has an internal philosophy of "Make new thing OP. And nerf later." They will balance it. But every time they make something new, always play it immediately.
Edit: Quintillion is what you are looking for. Mill = 1 Bill = 2 Tril = 3 Quad = 4 Quint = 5
ktc241: Seems like the programing department has the same problem as their writing department.
tiopira011: To make it a bit easier to understand the size of those numbers, say there was a boss with 200,000T (200 quadrillion) health and this character 1hit it in 1 second. Now if another character had 1 billion dps, it would still take that character 6.3 YEARS of non-stop dps to kill it.
