Diablo 4 After 300 Hours Season 4 is ACTUALLY...

Jun 05 2024

LarkyLuna: If this was what season 1/base launched with, Diablo 4 would have been in a very healthy state
Saphire_Throated_Carpenter_Ant: This season killed WAY more builds than it made new ones. So many builds are just dead now. They really screwed up with not making uniques be able to be tempered. Before a unique was basically a legendary with a special aspect and sometimes special affixes, now a uniqe is basically a rare with a special aspect on it and an extra affix.
In order to retain the balance that existed when uniques were essentially special legendaries, they need to make them be able to be tempered like a legendary.
Infinite charged bolt build with lam nesson staff is dead, infinite ice shards build is dead, meteor is dead already and pretty much just got made a thing last season, stormclaw druid is dead and it seems like poison claw druid is dead as well.
I haven't seen a single bone spear build so I'm guessing that's dead... have to have deathless visage and lidless wall to make those work, so lose out on 4 tempers. Also who wants to sacrifice all their minions now?
pierrepellerin249: This is my first season playing beyond the first week. My main character is nowhere near maxing as most my gear is still 4 out of 12 masterwork except weapon which is at 10. My 2nd character just reached lvl 100, nothing done except rushing to 100. So this season is a big win if you ask me. Will definitely keep me busy for a few more weeks.
leonardoholanda2209: This season is amazing, I agree.
But the game ended up feeling like a chore when I hit Pit Tier 80-100, with the Gold farming - Veil farming - Pit farming. There is no garanteed progression, you're tied to luck on drops, masterwork upgrades and tempering. When it comes down to luck, one can either throw hundreds of hours at the system to push the probabilities or just keep trying to get lucky on the few hours you can actually play, and both these options are not fun imo.
Pr0digaLKiD: They should put a temper reset in the weekly cache from bosses. Obtainable by all, rare enough to make using them a big thing.
renzoescobar5: Fix template SO we can reset stuff when we fail ...fail a template on a drop great 3 afixes Is a horror
nokkprime: I’ve spent more time in this season than anyone I bet. Every class 100 all glyphs 21, farmed 8 sparks, and I can 100% say this season overall is good, but the masterworking and tempering is trash.
B78p1neus: 300 hundred hours already is bonkers. i got bored after a few days!
coolhandluke9783: Great direction. Just adjust angel breath and stygian stone drop rates
jamesschultz5651: Imagine cheesing all of the content with bolts for 300 hours, yikes.
sephirian688: I like the rng on master working because you can reset it. I HATE the rng on tempering because you can’t reset it. Other than that and some mild balance concerns I have no complaints.

Though is it just me or does every overpower build feel unbearably weaker than everything else Barb, Druid (excluding the weird overpower hurricane thing), and Necro can do? I built my old Blood Lance build (a duration temper…really?) and Blood surge build (even went ham in making sure to set up corpses for the new gloves) and 5-7 mil every few seconds just doesn’t feel like a very good investment for rank 12 gear.
